  Strict and disciplined, he takes his role as Alpha and captain seriously. His intimidating and angry front hides a lot of confusion, worry, and guilt. He is very family-oriented. Lycaon is shown not to get along well with Rukio, whether it is because the other man takes under table jobs and never gets caught, because he is half human, or simply because he is a cat doesn't seem to be clear.

  Lycaon was top in class at demon school and outward appearances suggest him to be the perfect specimen of his species, however due to some childhood friends of his that Rukio meets he soon learns that Lycaon is anything but organised. Deciding to take a civilian job over the Royal Guard that most if not all Alpha Hellhounds go into and having yet to breed at his age, his father expresses his disappointment and anger of Lycaon quite frequently to him. The pressures of his position, feeling he has to be strong to protect his brothers, and the confusing feelings that circulate inside him brings Lycaon to visit Rukio's mother Runa for help.

  Lycaon was the character I wanted to explore "pressures of being normal" and suddenly having conflicting emotions and interests making you question yourself and your whole life.

  Hellhounds are a spartan family group of demons. The family is comprised of all males and there are betas (the caretakers) and alphas (the guardians/breeders). All hellhounds are male and all have a different mother of a different demon species. The female demon gives birth to the male hellhound and releases the pups to the father who raises them along with the brothers in the family. This is why each brother is a different "species of dog".
